Based out
of central Pennsylvania playing traditional and cutting edge
acoustic bluegrass music, Colebrook Road hit the stage in
April of 2009. Since then the band has gained rapid exposure
and notoriety for its skillful instrumentation, vocal
harmony, and original composition.
The name comes from a local phenomenon in which three
different byways share the name all within a few miles of
one another. All the band members are musicians coming from
varied musical backgrounds. Steeped in bluegrass tradition
from the likes of Bill Monroe to Chris Thile, Wade
Yankey’s skillful mandolin playing drives the group’s
raw bluegrass sound.
Coming from a rock and reggae background, Adam Bustin sings
the harmony vocals as well as holding up the solid bottom
end of the band on the upright bass. Marcus Weaver picks the
five string banjo in traditional Earl Scruggs three finger
style while bringing his own vibe to the sound. Coming from
a blues and rock guitar background, Marcus does much of the
band’s songwriting. Singing lead vocal and playing guitar
is Jesse Eisenbise who comes from a folk and country
background. Jesse also writes the band’s original music
which is usually requested at live shows.
The unique sound combined with interesting lyrics that
relate to local life in central Pennsylvania is what keeps
people coming back to see Colebrook Road time and time
again. Acoustic music is a unique appeal, but the
combination of traditional and contemporary bluegrass sound
sets this quartet apart from any other musical act in the
area.
